Michigan Coastal Management Program Grant

Assistance Information:

Audience: local units of government, cities, counties, villages, and townships; regional planning agencies; educational institutions; state government agencies; Tribal Governments; and not-for-profit 501(c) organizations.

Purpose: prioritizes projects that promote resilience planning, adopt local policies, and take actions to mitigate negative impacts of coastal hazards through community outreach and engagement, host the MCMP’s Coastal Leadership Academy technical training workshops, evaluate regional impacts and coastal issues and/or install site-specific nature-based solutions to preserve, conserve, and restore coastal natural resources.

Deadline: RFP released annually in the fall, due in December, 2025 Application extended until January 2026!

Financial:

Planning Grants - $10,000 - $100,000

Feasibility, Design, Engineering Projects - $10,000 - $150,000

Low-cost Construction $10,000 - $250,000

Land Conservation (Acquisition Grants) - $500,000
